Gonda MLA Prem Narayan Pandey Faces Death Threat Allegation, Complaint Filed

Gonda: An alleged death threat against Tarabganj Assembly constituency MLA Prem Narayan Pandey has come to light, with a complaint lodged at Tarabganj police station seeking registration of a case and action against the accused.

The complaint was filed by Vinod Kumar Pandey, son of the MLA and a resident of Ranipur village under Tarabganj police station. According to the complaint, Sunil Singh, a resident of Ward No. 6 of Belser Nagar Panchayat, allegedly threatened to kill Prem Narayan Pandey in public. During a purported conversation, Singh allegedly made a threatening remark about firing “one thousand bullets” at the legislator.

The complaint further alleges that Singh, along with several other people, was conducting surveillance of the MLA and attempting to surround him with the intention of killing him. Vinod Kumar Pandey has reportedly submitted an audio recording of the alleged threatening conversation to the police on a pen drive, claiming that it contains the accused’s voice and evidence of the alleged criminal intent.

The complainant said the incident has raised serious concerns over the safety of the MLA and his family. Describing the alleged incident as a potential conspiracy to target a public representative, he urged police to register an FIR under relevant sections and take immediate action.

The complaint was submitted at Tarabganj police station on August 7, 2026. Police have registered a case against Sunil Singh and eight to ten unidentified persons and initiated an investigation. Officials are also examining the authenticity of the audio recording submitted with the complaint.
